Meet Banjo

Banjo is a four-year-old yellow British Labrador trained in scent-specific search. His role enables volunteer search teams, like those from Crossridge Search and Rescue, to track the unique scent of a missing person across rugged terrain, dense woods, and large search areas where time is critical. Rook

Rook is a five-month-old Labrador and the littermate partner to Briar. Together, they form a young working team growing within Crossridge Search and Rescue, a dedicated group that provides lost recovery services. Rook is training in human remains detection and learning to work scent in difficult terrain and search environments. As his training progresses, the goal is to prepare him for challenging scenarios often encountered by volunteer search teams.

Briar

Briar is a five-month-old Labrador and one half of a young brother team training with Crossridge Search and Rescue. He is beginning work in human remains detection, focusing on building the drive and concentration necessary for complex search operations. As part of the volunteer search teams, Briar trains across wooded terrain and challenging environments to develop the skills needed for effective lost recovery services.

Timber

Timber is a four-year-old Labradoodle training as an electronic storage device detection dog with Crossridge Search and Rescue. She is learning to locate hidden devices such as cell phones, USB drives, memory cards, and other digital storage used to conceal evidence. Once certified, Timber will support local jails, as well as assist volunteer search teams in lost recovery services.

Reaper

Reaper is a five-year-old black German Shepherd working with Crossridge Search and Rescue. His handler trains him in human remains detection, a crucial skill utilized by volunteer search teams during complex search and recovery operations. Reaper develops the focus and scent recognition necessary to locate evidence across wooded terrain and remote environments, supporting lost recovery services effectively.
